WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT ALEXANDRAS?

I am a full time Community Carer at the Truro office.

WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE YOU JOINED ALEXANDRAS?

I lived and worked in Canada as a bar manager of a ski resort. I arrived in Cornwall in 2020 with my partner who is from here.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?

The team are amazing like a family and our Manager is just great, flexible, supportive and so nice. The clients are also lovely too; I want to adopt them all as my family!

WHAT'S THE BEST THING ABOUT WORKING AT ALEXANDRAS?

The team work and my co-workers are great. I also love helping the older generation.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE FOR?

Lots of driving. I do a singles and also do a double runs with co-workers. Nice to have a lot of variety. Sometimes, I just work mornings and sometimes in evenings. 99% of people are very nice!

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO IN THE FUTURE?

Now I am working in care, I think this is where my future will remain. It feels so natural to me and I love it.

WHAT'S SOMETHING PEOPLE MAY NOT KNOW?

In Canada I played pool; when I came to Cornwall I could whip the locals at snooker! So now I'm one of the few female members of my local club!
