Gemma's comments:
I've worked in health and social care since 2005, gaining experience in complex care, mental health and positive behaviour management, including six years as a Registered Manager. I joined Alexandras Community Care in September 2026 to manage the Truro branch.
My passion for care has also been shaped by personal experiences supporting family members with additional needs. I believe in helping people live the lives they choose, respecting their individual needs, preferences and independence.
I particularly enjoy developing services and supporting my team to grow professionally. I believe a great team is built on open communication, honesty and supporting one another.
Outside of work, I'm a mum of three and enjoy spending time with my family, camping in our camper van, boating and exploring the outdoors.
At Alexandras, we offer a wide range of care and support services to help people remain independent in their own homes, from as little as 30 minutes per week to several visits daily.
Our carers receive comprehensive training to support people with a variety of needs, including complex care requirements. Based in the centre of Truro, our team is committed to providing compassionate, reliable and person-centred care.

I started to work for Alexandra's in August 2017 in Falmouth/Penryn branch office. In 2018 The office had to relocate and subsequently the two branches separated, which at the time the hours were more at the Truro Branch so I came across to work for them. I have always worked in administration, however never in the healthcare sector. I have always felt appreciated supported by my managers and colleagues. Which makes office a great place to work.

The team decided to make the most of the sunny weather by having a team picnic!
The Truro team hosted their coffee morning recently. They had a lovely day, and raised over 100 pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support!🙂
