I am a Community Carer at the Penzance office though I am hoping to progress with more responsibility.
Going the extra mile for the clients and seeing the genuine relief and support they can feel. It's a very rewarding.
Since starting with Alexandras they have been nothing but supportive. I've been given opportunities to learn and grow.
I will either work a morning or afternoon shift. When I started all my shifts were with double handed clients so I could learn by shadowing my colleagues. I now do a variety of shifts on my own supporting people with their daily routines as well as double handed visits.
I always knew I had a lot of energy to give something, I just didn't know what. Coming into care work has opened my eyes and I can see that care is a vocation for me. I am really excited to pursue a career in this environment.
