We understand that receiving news that you or a loved one has a terminal or life-limiting illness can be frightening and a highly emotional time.
Award-winning, Alexandras Community Care, have been working on nationally recognised approaches to support people to die with dignity. We work alongside other agencies such as Marie Curie and Macmillan to tailor specialist care to ease the emotional worry, stress and the fear that may come with a diagnosis.
We use the approach of holistic care by caring for the whole person and not just the condition. Palliative care is not only for the individual who is unwell but also to support their close families involved in their care.
We can help you with personal care; supporting with bathing, dressing, toileting and continence (including stoma care and catheter management).
We offer medication support including managing prescribed medication and prompting oral medication, pain management (directed by your GP) and administering medication via a PEG.
We can also support by running errands such as shopping visits and collecting prescriptions along with household chores including hoovering, dusting, putting the rubbish out, recycling and general domestic tasks.
Not only do we provide support with personal care, medication, meal prep etc., we also provide companionship to help you feel at ease during a very difficult time in your life. No one is alone and we endeavour to ensure no one feels alone when receiving care from us.
