Complex Care Assistants - Penryn/Falmouth

Job Description & Responsibilities

Alexandras Community Care are looking to recruit experienced carers to work within complex care packages based in Falmouth.

You will be supporting people in their day to day living, ensuring they are safe and comfortable and living as independently as possible. You will be expected to help with personal tasks as well as accompany them to appointments, shops, events and days out.

You will need to have a friendly, caring disposition to make someone feel comfortable and safe in your presence.

Responsibilities

• Support with personal care
• Support with maintaining home
• Support with recycling
• Support with maintaining garden
• Support with laundry
• Support with meal prep
• Proactively encourage the client to engage
• Medication prompting and support
• Support with accessing the community
• Support with visiting spouse
• Support with food/clothes shopping
• Support to make regular hair/nail/beauty appointments as required
• Support to attend medical appointments/dental/CMHT/GP
• Support with activities the client enjoys
• Support to explore suitable leisure/fitness activities - the client has mentioned swimming as an option
• Support with meal prep

Requirements

• Some previous experience within care capacity, whether this be community, care home, hospital or similar
• Ideally complex are experience, but training can be given as long as possesses some care experience
• Able to work under pressure and with challenge behaviour
• Be able to work every other weekend
• Friendly, trustworthy and caring nature
• Driving not essential but must live in Falmouth or be able to commute to and from required destination

Shifts will be 9-5 & 5-10
