Registered Manager Robyn's comments:
My name is Robyn Hendy, and I am the Registered Manager for Alexandra’s Community Care, Truro and Penryn offices. I first started with the company in 2017, starting as a Community Carer in and around Truro.
I carried out on-call tasks for a period of time before applying for the Deputy Manager’s role - and was successful! I worked for a year as a Deputy Manager enjoying the extra responsibility when I covered for the Manager. This enabled me to take over as Manager of the Truro branch in September 2021.
Alexandra’s is a great place for career progression and the company really encourages individuals to work on their professional development.
Alexandra’s offer a wide range of care and support services enable you or a loved one to remain in your own homes as independently as possible, we offer as little as 30 minutes per week to several visits daily.
Our carers are all trained to a high standard by our own training manager to enable us to be able to support people with various complex needs. We are located right in the centre of Truro city and will endeavour to provide a caring efficient service. Our team is your team.
Update Sep 2023: Robyn is currently on maternity leave with Teona providing management maternity cover.

I’ve been working for Alexandra’s for 3 years and was promoted to Team Leader in March 2022, and now I am the Deputy Manager in 2023 and providing Maternity Cover as Manager.
I’ve previously worked in a hair salon and found it unrewarding and I went on to work in a nursing home and found my passion in taking care of people who can no longer take care of themselves and assisting them with their independence.
I found my vocation by working in the community, which I really enjoy and thrive in. I enjoy working as part of a team and support my team in any way I can.
I have two sons aged 10 and 6 who are my world and enjoy going on family adventures with my time off.
I started to work for Alexandra's in August 2017 in Falmouth/Penryn branch office. In 2018 The office had to relocate and subsequently the two branches separated, which at the time the hours were more at the Truro Branch so I came across to work for them. I have always worked in administration, however never in the healthcare sector. I have always felt appreciated supported by my managers and colleagues. Which makes office a great place to work.
I’ve been working for Alexandra’s since 2018, it was completely new for me when I started and quite challenging but I loved the challenge. The best feeling is knowing that you are making a difference in people’s lives each day, especially to people who only see us. I feel I’m appreciated so much by all my colleagues and managers, I would struggle to find anywhere better.
Recently I got offered the team leader position which I was over the moon with and was ready to learn more skills to develop further in this company.
I love spending time outdoors going on walks and just finding new places to explore with my partner when I’m not working.
